Crochet Ribbed Beanie Pattern

I’m sharing another Christmas present creation with you today. I made this hat for my youngest sister Kimberly. I went through a couple of ideas before I whipped this one up at the last second. I got a chance to try out some new stitches, front and back post double crochet. If you know how to crochet then you can learn each of these stitches. After I watched a video, it was easy to get the hang of them.
What I noticed with creating this ribbed pattern it that it shrinks up the hat since it is so stretchy. I had to make the crown of the hat bigger than I thought because of the ribbing. I think it would be a great stitch for leggings (maybe I’ll have to try that.)
My sister loved that hat and requested I add a flower to it. I actually wanted to add a flower but ran out of time. I had one already started so I finished it up Christmas evening with Kimberly’s input on where to add the flower and what button to put in the middle of it. It was fun to collaborate with her since I love to customize my hats for the recipient. She was also pretty impressed at how quickly I was able to add the flower.
Now you get two see two versions of this hat with and without the flower.
