Crochet Turban Ear Warmer Pattern

crochet turban ear warmer pattern bow

I am really liking the turban patterns that are popular right now. I have been wanted to create some new ear warmer designs so I immediately thought of a turban design (I’ve also seen similar ones also called bow ear warmers). I love the faux bobble look that is created by the single crochet, triple crochet pattern. It creates a nice texture and works up pretty easily.

I used Caron Simply Soft yarn for this ear warmer. This yarn claims to be worsted weight but I think it is slightly thinner than other worsted weight yarns. It’s so soft and I love the feel of it. I find it works best with a smaller stitch or a smaller hook. This pattern will work with any worsted weight yarn of your choice as it is easily adaptable to any size.

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn. I used Caron Simply Soft.
I hook
Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
Sc- Single Crochet
Tr- Triple Crochet
Ch- Chain

Instructions:
Row 1: Ch 12
Row 2: Sc in 2nd from hook each ch across (11 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1 turn. Sc in same stitch, tr in next. (Sc, tr) repeat across. End with a sc.
Row 4: Ch 1 turn. Sc in each stitch across.
Repeat Row 3 and 4 until the piece measures one inch smaller than your head. My head is 21 inches so I stopped at 20 inches.
Fasten off and leave a really long tail, enough to weave and wrap. Weave the ends of the headband together and wrap the rest around the seam until you are satisfied with the size of the wrap. Knot in the back of the headband and tuck the knot into the back of the wrap.
