Crochet Toddler Football Helmet Hat Pattern

crochet toddler football helmet hat pattern, jets

You may not know this about me but I was born in New York City. We lived there until I was five and then moved to Scarsdale until I was twelve before making the move to Ohio. I still keep in touch with my best friend growing up, Rachel, and she had a son, Gabe, who will be two in March.

When I found out she was having a boy I made her a Jets football helmet hat since her hubby is a huge fan. This was pre blog days so I don’t have any pictures of the first version which I made in a 6-9 month size so it would fit for football season. This year she asked me to make Gabe a new hat so he could dress up as a football player for Halloween. Since I was already in the football helmet hat making mood, I was happy to oblige. I didn’t remember exactly how I made the first one so I had to come up with a new pattern in a toddler size.

This pattern could easily be adapted for a different sports team by switching out the colors.
